Why that ungrateful wretch!

How dare she diss my creation?

I hate how my Wild-girl treats me, as if I’m trash—junk on her porch. Huh.

She rejects me; she rejects my story.

And my story is her story.

It compels me to twist and cut, hammer and plaster, weld and stitch, collect bones, and twigs, and trash, and death—then pound everything together into a glorious piece of art.

It’s a gift I’ve always had, and one I shared generously with my offspring.

This particular sculpture is a sentinel to ward my Wild-girl’s home against evildoers.

And she’s dissing it? As trash?

Let’s see how well she takes care of her daughter—she who sent the little sweetie off to the careless preacher family.

Oh, sure. She doesn’t leave junk on her daughter’s doorstep. She only leaves her daughter on junky people’s doorstep.

I want to grind her teeth to dust. But now is not the time to teach my girl a lesson. I have to plan carefully, ideally kill two or more birds with a single bullet.

Speaking of birds—the horrid baby daddy bears watching. He’s not completely clueless. I’m sure he knows he was lied to.

He’s brash and unpredictable. What will he do when he finds out?

My girl is completely over her head and unprepared for the approaching firestorm. Lies and secrets don’t stay unexposed forever.

Once that man figures out the truth, Jessie’s carefully constructed baby-doll, “Jesus loves me” fantasy world is going to blow up. She got a taste of it already with Betsy gone missing.

When will they ever learn?
